Panama City is characterized by having the happiest citizens in the world since 2012, and it is very easy to know the reason. Panama, or the Republic of Panama, is the southernmost country found in Central America. Three million years ago, the Isthmus of Panama emerged from the sea and changed the world forever. It divided an ocean and united two continents, which caused one of the most important natural evolution events in the history of the world. Today, this narrow land bridge in Central America is the home to more species of birds and trees than in all of North America.

Panama is world renowned for its 48 miles of channel that link the Pacific Ocean with the Atlantic Ocean. More than 30 local universities (whether public or private) and several foreign business schools create a dynamic and vibrant academic landscape by making Panama a specialized education and research center in different areas aided by prosperity, security, cultural diversity and rich biodiversity throughout the country.

The Ministry of Education (MEDUCA) is the governing body of Panamanian education. For the National Directorate of Coordination of the Third Level of Teaching or Higher Education, academic mobility is a basic and fundamental element in the process of internationalization of higher education. The flow of people, technology and knowledge, across borders, as well as economic and cultural integration require the implementation of mechanisms for university cooperation to enhance and improve the quality of higher education. Academic mobility within the framework of the University Accreditation and Evaluation System of Panama implies the incorporation of strategies and projects that facilitate the implementation of actions between university higher education institutions and those of the context.

Two Panamanian state universities have been part of the FORINT project and after reformulating their internationalization strategies, the International Relations Directorates of these can offer all their collaboration to establish new academic exchanges, participation in international projects, international weeks among other services.

Universidad Especializada de las Américas (UDELAS) - Panama City

Why study at la Universidad Especializada de las Américas (UDELAS)?

It is an institution of higher education of the Republic of Panama, founded twenty-two (22) years ago. It has been developed integrating in its reason for being the social approach, it is an inclusive university, which in addition to generating academic activities in the capital of the country it has extensions in five (5) provincial capitals. In addition, develops eight (8) academic programs in the Indigenous Comarcas (Native Peoples). The Center for Attention to Diversity (CADI), Interdisciplinary Center for Care and Research in Education and Health (CIAES), The Institute of Physical and Sports Health (INSAFIDE), the Institute of Languages and Technology (ILTEC), support its academic development. Only 5 minutes from the headquarters of the UDELAS you will find the famous City of Knowledge, consisting of a complex of several centers of high scientific and research studies, international universities, regional organizations and the United Nations Hub organizations in the hemisphere.

Universidad Agraria de la Habana Fructuoso Rodríguez Pérez (UNAH) - Mayabeque
